 ROSHNI
(Rehabilitation,
Opportunities, Services and Health for the Neurologically
Impaired) was established in Gwalior in 1997, to help start and later expand specialised services for
persons with disabilities and their families.
Starting with little more than the commitment of its founders and the umbrella of the RAMAKRISHNA
ASHRAMA in the form of administrative support,
premises, and participation in all activities
ROSHNI is well established with rehabilitation
and support services that extend beyond the centre. |

 ROSHNI means radiance and the centre has lived up to it's name by bringing high quality direct
services to both urban and rural families with disabled
children and adults. ROSHNI has also become
a conduit bringing professionals, hitherto confined
to large metropolitan centres, to Gwalior. These visits
have had a positive impact in altering community attitudes
towards disability.
ROSHNI's further growth and development as an Apex Centre for Northern Madhya
Pradesh depends upon the financial and other support
it receives from concerned individuals and institutions. |
| Gwalior had
minimal professional services for the education, rehabilitation
or support of persons with disability or their families.
It is developing as a major industrial center and has
all the necessary resources for effective rehabilitation
services.
